Proper response to a gift sent by our Chinese manufacturer - for our son's wedding!

We have a good working relationship with our manufacturer in China, and he has found out that our son just got married - he has sent a "small gift". We are delighted but confused by this lovely gesture, and not sure how to respond! Can you help?

Dena, first you should say Xie Xie and let him know that your son likes the present. This time he sent your son a present. Next time you need to send a present in return. In Chinese, we call this Li Shang Wang Lai, which means courtesy demands reciprocity in English.
