About:China Visa Application in USA

Invitataion Letter

Hi,

I'm American artist and I need to go to Shanghai for an art event. A French friend of mine who currently lives in Shanghai, China will cover my accomodation etc. Should I ask her for an invitation letter or do I just need to fill in the above application form and submit it to the consulate?

Thank you.

You are suggested to ask the art event organization for an invitation letter instead of a letter from your friend, since you go to Shanghai for the art event.

The invitation letter should contains: information on the applicant (full name, gender, date of birth, etc.); information on the planned visit (arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, etc.) and information on the inviting entity or individual (name, contact telephone number, address, official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual).
