You renew your passport because of changing the name and getting a green card?
If so, you can go to the nearby consulate/embassy for applying a renew. You need to provide completed application form, one recent taken photo, your current passport, your resident proof in USA, your green card & name changing proof from court & marriage certificate or any documents to support to renew, your household register in China. You need to hand them in person.

Thank you for the information;
We went to the Chinese web site but can not find the form for renewing the Chinese Passport. We also called the Chinese Embassy's information number and were waiting for 45 minutes and were still waiting. The nearest Chinese Council or Embassy is 400 miles from our home in the US, seem like there would be an alternative to appearing in person, but if that is their rule then we will have to go there.

Hi, I really found the application form on their official website of Chinese Embassy in USA. You may try again little. It is not easy to find, but it is truly on their website.
