Do the high speed trains from Beijing to Pingyao run every Sunday?

I would like to catch the new high speed rail from Beijing to Pingyao on Sunday afternoon 26 September. Will it be running? Can I buy tickets at the station in Beijing?

It runs everyday. You can buy on spot by using passport.
