About:Chinese Embassy in Philippines

Tourist L for ghana people

Hi, i just graduated from a university in china. My brother is married to a chinese lady and they have a kid of 4years, they travel most of the time to the united stated because my sister in law is a chinese language teacher in america. They need my help to take care of their kid anytime they are not in china, i have the needed documents and invitation letters issued by my brother and his wife both in english and in chinese. I want to know, is it possible to get the L visa from the phillipines?

You can try to apply that in Philippines, but it is not assured that you can get it in the end.

According to the rules, Chinese embassy in Ghana only issue X, Z, F and M for ghana people, so you cannot get a Tourist L if applying in your country. So for your situation, you are suggested to consult the embassy for detail information.

Thanks alot Mindy...i'm trying to apply for S2 type based on relatives. I have all the notarizations from ghana and an authentication from Chinese embassy in ghana aswell, please i want to ask what are my chances?

May I know your brother's type staying in China?
S2 is available for those who intend to visit their family members who are foreigners working or studying in China. If your brother does not have a Z or X type, you cannot apply that.

He has a residence permit which is valid for two years, and the purpose of his residence is because his wife is chinese and they have a daughter who is also chinese citizen. But his wife is working for the chinese confucius institute in sandy, utah state in America so it becomes a necessisity that i help with babysitting their daughter. So i'm applying for a visa with purpose of visiting immediate relatives

If so, he does not have a job and he may have a Q type to enter China?

If so, you cannot apply a S2, according to the rules. You can also consult the Chinese embassy in your country and they may give you a good and exact answer.

Thanks alot mindy, i arrived in manila today and i was refused entry into phillipines. I have all my documents, return flight ticket, hotel booking and a reasonable amount of money on me. But sadly they refused me and gave me no reason whatsoever. I'll be sent back to shanghai soon, i'm still detained at the manila airport. I cant enyer china either cos i came out with an exit gisa to change my students X to tourist. Thanks alot, i'll try if i can get it in ghana
