If you can ask them in Harbin to issue you an invitation letter, then your bank account is not needed for application. If they cannot provide you an invitation letter, you need to show your bank statement with 6 months' history.

For documents you need to prepare, they are your valid passport, application form with a recent taken photo, invitation letter, your itinerary and your personal statement (including the scenic spots, your Chinese friends' names, addresses, photo numbers, job information, your basic information) and other special requirements the embassy needs.
