if i cannot catch my second train because my first is late, than what should i do?

You can try to change your ticket to a later train as long as there are tickets available. If you take the K, T or Z-types ( normal one ) the ticket can be changed once before the train departs. If you take the D or G-types, the tickets usually can be changed even 2 hour after the departure time.
