About:Hong Kong MTR Tickets & Fares
i am a senior citizen (67) visting HongKong for 5/6 days. I was told to buy Octopus card.

Hello, I am a Canadian senior living in HK and I can tell you that the Octopus is of fantastic benefit here. First of all, it costs the equivalent of about 25 cents for seniors to ride the MTR and the KMB (double decker) transit buses all over HK. What a deal compared with Canada! On the minibuses you pay the regular fare, whatever it might be depending on your trip. You can also use the OCtopus in many, many places for purchases. It is an invaluable tool and can make your trip so much easier. I highly recommend it. :)0
