when was the great wall of china built and when was it finally complete?

Before the Qin Dynasty, there were some sections by other states. During the Qin Dynasty, Emperor Shihuangdi ordered to build the wall nationwidely. Later, the wall had been extended in latter dynasties. What we see today were mostly built during the Ming Dynasty.
