About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.
Will I need to re-apply for visa once my passport is renewed?
I need to update my US passport but my China Visa is still valid.

If you are in China now, you do not need to re-apply it. You can use your two passports to finish your traveling in China.
If you are in your home country, you are suggested to re-apply one to avoid troubles.
