About:Chinese Consulate in Brisbane

Would I be able to apply for a visa if I have been before.

I was in China in 2012 as a tourist and am thinking about going again this year, also as tourist.

If you got a single entry Tourist type in 2012, you still need to apply a new one this year. With your old one, it may be easier for you to get a new one.
