About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Tourist Visa - 30 days - single entry - German national - Date of Entry: 02.09.14

I am in Ningbo with a L type (30days/single entry) and I have a couple of questions:

1) Which is the exact date I have to leave China (Date of entry: 02.09.2014)?
2) Is it possible to extent the L type? If so, do I have to leave the country to do so?
3) I am currently looking for a job as a teacher (I am qualified & experienced). Will it be possible to change from L type to Z type?

Isa, your total duration should be counted 30 days from Sep. 3, 00:00, to be precise. You should exit on October 2. Yes, you can extend your L type at local PSB. However, it's almost impossible to change L type to Z. If you find a job in China, you should go back to your country again to apply for the Z type.

Thank you for the answer about the time, Selena. Are you sure that I need to go to my home country? Can I not only leave the country (to Hongkong, foe example) and re-enter on the Work Z?

You may try to apply it in HK, but it is not assured that you can get it in HK. So it is suggested to back to your own country for application, so that you can get it in the end without any troubles.

Hello Selena,
I went to my local PSB today and they told me I have NO chance to extend my Tourist-L and definately have to leave on Oct 2nd :(
