About:Traveling Cost in China

Take Canadian or US currency to exchange over there?

We are Canadians and on group tour for 12 days staying at 5 star hotels with all tours included. I've read many places; better to exchange your money when we get there. Should this be Canadian or US and should you bring it in cash or Traveller cheques? Not big shoppers but how much would you suggest bringing?
Thanks

Marilyn, both Canadian and US dollars can be exchanged at Chinese banks. Both cash and traveler cheques are accepted. You may find Bank of China branches to exchange your money. According to related regulation, you can take as much as 20000 RMB or 5000 USD in cash into China. Considering that you travel in an arranged group tour, I think 2000 to 3000 Canadian dollars are ok.
