to visit zhangjiajie in decthe fastest land transportation from hong kong

I plan to visit ZJJ in Dec. Is it a good time to visit it? How could I get there from hong kong, by land transportation? How long does it take? Please help. Thank's a lot guys..Jan

Honestly, Dec. is not during the best timing to visit, but if you are not afraid of coldness, you can still go there to see the snow scenery. Aside from airplane, I would suggest you get there by rail. At Hung Hom Railway Station, HK, take a train to Guangzhou East Railway Station in 2 hours. Then go to Guangzhou Railway Station, take a train to ZJJ, which takes 13-15 hours. BTW, you are recommended to book the train tickets in advance.
