About:Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles

I am planning to visit China in Feb., 2015 for about a week. Is it too early to apply for visa now?

Yes, it's too early. Usually, the embassy suggest the applicants apply no earlier than three months. In your situation, I think you can apply in January of 2015.
