Passsport validity upon reaching China for transfering

we have booked to visit Shanghai for 48 hours to visit the City but my 9 year old's UK passport will only be valid for another 5 months upon arrival. is this a problem? it is very difficult to get a new passport in the UK in time for our trip. thank you for your advice
