About:Chinese Consulate in New York

Layover in Hong Kong for 3-4 days for tourism

We have US passport traveling from NYC to Japan and layover in HOng Kong for 3-4 days probably end of October or beginning of November 2014 and we will use the 90 days visa free to visit Hong Kong. Does Hong Kong government requires that US passport must be valid for six months? My brother passport will expire end of March 2015, which gives only five months passport validity. I read conflicting information in the internet. Please provide me with accurate informacion as soon as possible to make airline resevation.
Thanks for your valuable cooperation.

Vera, I think you'd better confirm this with the HK Immigration Department.
