National hoilday in Jinan and will the retailer will open at that time?

Hi, I am traveling to China on the 1st of October with 8 students. We will need to find apartments for their 6 year duration of stay as well as do shopping for all their requirements. Will all major retailers like Walmart and RTmart be open for trade or should we change our travel dates. many thanks
