bus stop at Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian

I want to take the number 6 bus (stop across from Fortune Suites hotel, I believe) to Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Does the bus drop you off right at the pagoda or do passengers have to walk further?

Thanks.

You must refer to the bus tour 6 (游6), it doesn’t pass the hotel, and it will stop at the South Square of the pagoda. You will walk about 200 meters to reach it.

Thanks for the response. One of the reviews on Trip adviser states that there is a stop for bus #6 across from the hotel. Since you seem to know the hotel, would you tell me its exact location?
Google map has it near Home Inn to the west of South street, and another map shows it being ear Pizza Hut, to the east of South street. I'll be walking for the airport shuttle bus drop-off at Melody hotel to Fortune Suites. However, I am having difficulties in point its exact location. If you can advise me me on its location, much wiould be appreciated. As well, what bus should I take from Fortune Suites to get to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda??
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi, this hotel is exactly located at no. 8, South Street. It is very close to the Century Ginwa on the street. When getting off at Melody Hotel, you can walk along the West Street for around 200m to the roundabout of Bell Tower and then walk onto the Souith Street. Then on the east side of the street, you can see your hotel.

XA taxi charges very low. Your hotel is around 7km to the pagoda, so you can take a taxi to reach at the cost of around CNY15.

Thanks for the response.

I read that taxis in that city are not regulated. My sister is deadly afraid of taxis in Asia, to the point of being shaken, from having heard of people getting rob in taxis. I would be nice if we just take the taxi. Do you have a reputable taxi company that you would recommend?

Thank you.

I’m a native of this city. Personally speaking, it’s quite safe to use the public transport. You should take the green or blue taxis, which are officially operated.

By the way, you need to make a deal on the price before you get on the taxi or ask the driver charge by meter. If you really worry a lot, just remember the car number in case.
