What is some types of documentation I can provide for Type L visa?

Under your requirements for application.
"4. Proof of legal stay or resdence status (applicable to those not applying in their country of citizenship)"

Generally speaking, a valid passport, application form with recent taken passport photo, your hotel booking in China and round trip tickets to China are enough for application.

If you are not in your home country, you still need to show a proof of legal status in another country for applying. If you are in your home country, it is not needed.
