You can walk to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and take the Line 2( Guangzhou South station direction). You need to get off at Gongyuanqian station with only one stop and change to Line 1 (Guangzhou East station direction). Then get off at Tiyu Xilu Station with 5 stops and change to Line 3 (North expansion route, South Airport direction). You need to get of at Airport S. Station (D Exit). The whole process need about 1 and a half hours.
