About:China Visa Exemption

Can I, as a South African Passport holder with an employment visa for Hong Kong, travel to Shanghai?

I have a years an employment type that is valid for one year. Does this change the requirement for South Africans entering China?

The one hold in HK will not change the requirements for entering China mainland. So you still need to apply for a single entry Tourist L for visiting Shanghai.
