is it advisable to go to taipei in the mid of august?

Hi I'm WL from Malaysia. Since I'm having my break in the middle of August, is it advisable to go Taipei ? One of my friend studying in Tainan advise me there's typhoon and Tainan is super hot while the other one from Taipei say it is fine as the weather similiar to Malaysia. Please advise! Thank you.

I'm afaid it's not a good time for travel there. Aug. is in the typhoon season of Taiwan. And it is a bit hot and windy. The average temp is about 31℃. It has a lot of rainfall during that time.
