visa required if i like to join the one day tour offer by cruise agent

Hi All:Further to the question above,   I am joining the celebrity cruise from Japan to Hong Kong  and the cruise will ported at Shanghai on Nov 02 2014 at 06:00 and depart at 22:00p.m. on the same day.  Just want to confirm do I need to apply for any type ahead of time in order to join the one day cruise tour to visit shanghai city.  Or I can simply apply for stay permit using my Canadian Passport.ThanksVicky

Since you will stay in Shanghai for no more than 24 hours, you do not need to apply one in advance. You can apply to get a stay permit to leave the Port using your Canadian passport.
