Return before 7 pm to Luoyang

Hi!

I want to visit Shaolin Temple the same day I take a train from Luoyang to Xian.

I have the hotel near Luoyang Station and I want to take the train to Xian at Longmen Station, at around 8 pm.

Is it possible to visit Shaolin Temple and arrive at Luoyang at 7 pm, in public transport? What frecuency of buses are in Shaolin Temple to Luoyang?

I think it is possible.
There are buses to Shaolin Temple from the coach station next to Luoyang Railway Station, and the first bus leaves at 8am. so i suggest that you get up early to catch the earliest bus. it takes about 2 hours to reach the temple.
After visting temple, you can wait for the bus back to Luoyang opposite the bus stop where you get off the bus. the buses are available every 20 - 30 minutes.
the bus fare is CNY 20 per person for single trip. the public bus do not sell round-trip tickets, only the illegal private buses do sell high price round-trip tickets. so, be aware of the illegal buses.
I suggest that you get back to Luoyang by 6pm or 6:30pm, as you have to get to Luomen station, and it takes about 30 - 60 minutes to the station.
