student without visa

i'm a dutch citizen(and student) going to china for 4 months. I will study in Xiamen but the school won't be able to send the required invitation letters (JW202) in time, as their school year starts mid september and i'll be arriving on the 18th. now i want to apply for a L type, but the time limit is 3 months. what do i need to get one? do i have to leave the country? do i need in invitation letter from an individual?(tutor at the school)

Rosa, it's inappropriate to study with a L type. L type is issued to those who plan to travel in China. Once you were reported to the police, you may be fined or detained. By the way, it's almost impossible to change visa type in China. It means that you still need to apply for a X type after you exit mainland China.

In general, the origin of the JW202 Form is needed, so it is impossible to submit the emails.
But it is suggested to consult the local embassy for asking there is better method.
