I wonder whether u refer to the Diqing horse racing during the Dragon Boat Festival. If so, the date in 2015 would be June 20 and in 2016, on June 9.

Thank you so much.  Would there be another time during the year when there is some major horse race in Diqing?  Or is it probably the Dragon Boat Festival that I would be reading about when I hear of a big horse racing festival?  I read about it in an airline magazine and decided that we must see it!  But I don't have the article anymore.

The horse racing during Dragon Boat Festival is the most grand race there and it is annually held, lasting for three days every year. So this is should be the one that you read on the magazine.
