Does a tourist visa cancel out a crew type?

I am a american based airline flight attendant and have a crew type good for 5 years. If I travel to China as a tourist do I still need a tourist type? Will my crew one still be valid after my tourist type is approved?

Do you have a five-valid multiple entries to China?
Personally speaking, you may not use your crew type for visiting China, so you still need to apply for a tourist L. For getting a new one, you need to have another passport to apply, so that your crew will not be cancelled.
