Single entry visa with residence permit?

Hello,

I have a single entry type for less than 6 month. And I heard that we could apply for a residence permit when we are in China.
The residence permit will allow me to get multi entry one then.

Do you have any idea if it is true?

Best,

Augustin

It is true that you can entry and exit for multiple times if you get a resident permit.
What type do you have?
Only holders of J1, Q1, S1 and X1 can apply for a resident permit when they are in China. If you holder other types, you cannot do that.
