Is it safe to go to taiwan in oct?

Hi I'm Shaun from Singapore.
This is my first time to that region and oct is the only time I'm avaliable.
Therefore, I want to check whether is it safe during Oct afterall it is the typhoon season. May a typhoon occur during that time?
