Is a visa required for airline staff/employee trvlng space avail (US passport) To connect thru PVG enroute from HKG to USA for purpose of additional flight options for return to US  from HKG visit

Christy, you should have a confirmed air ticket (not stand-by or additional flight options) if you don't want to apply. Otherwise, you should apply for a C or G type in advance.
