Do I need to submit my acct detail?

I am planning to visit a friend in China. I was told by an agent that I need to submit my account detail. And I need to at least have 1.5 lacs in my account. Is it true...?

Yes, the agent tells you the right information. There is no limitation on the amount on your account, but you need to provide your at least 6 monthes' deposit and the more, the better.
