About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Anything before we travel?

We are travelling from Amsterdam to Australia with a 3 night stopover in Guanzhou. It appears we are eligible for the 72 hour transit visa and that it will be clear on arrival at the airport to go to the customs officials that will grant a entry as we have an ongoing ticket to leave within 72 hours. My question is whether we should do anything before we travel? Do we have to inform anyone prior to getting to Amsterdam airport? Or when we are at Amsterdam airport?

On a separate question, I know for a tourist L type you need a passport that is valid for six months. My daughters passport is only valid for 5 months after the travel date. Will this be an issue?
Thank you for any response.

Sarah, you needn't to inform anyone at the Amsterdam airport. However, you should tell the steward at 30 minutes before you land at Guangzhou airport. Then you receive a form from the steward and you should fill the form and give it back to the steward.
