Child to live with granny for a few years

I would like my daughter ( who is 6 months old) to stay with her grandmother for 2 years in china. The visa office issued me a Q2 visa (which is the wrong type) Should I reapply here in the united states or apply in china? Does she need to have a medical exam in order to stay in china? Is it possible for me to get her residency in china on a Q2? What documents do I need in order to get a Q1? What do I need to give the PSB in china in order for her to get residency in china? Please help I am so confused. And how long can she stay on a Q1? Thank you for your help in advanced.

You have got Q2 already now? If so, it is almost impossible to re-apply it in USA, but you can only extend your Q2 in China before it expires.

The medical exam is not necessary for applying. On Q2, she does not need to get a residence permit. With Q2, she needs to leave China before it expires. If she wants to stay longer, she just need to extend it.

For applying Q1, you need to have an invitation letter from your daughter's grandmother, the grandma's ID card'd photocopy and the kinship certificate, but the local embassy or consulate has the final right to decide which type to issue to you. With Q1, your daugther can live in China around from one year to five years.
