About:China Visa Application in UK

I am traveling to China for a holiday. Do I need to show an air ticket when applying for the visa?

I'm a British.

If you cannot provide an invitation letter, you need to show your round trip air tickets and hotel booking when applying.
If you can provide an invitation letter from China, the tickets are not necessary.
