Can I drink the water from Soda Fountains at fast food places in China?

I don't really know if they use bottled or boiled water at the Soda Fountain at places like McDonalds' or KFC located in China? Can someone tell me if they are safe? I will be visiting their pretty soon.

In McDonald and KFC, they serve soda water in cups. In all the supermarkets and stores, they provide bottled soda water at the Soda Fountains.
