About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

One way tickets to China

If an individual is going to China to teach for 2 years can he/she arrive with only a one way ticket for arrival and not a return ticket?

If so, he or she can arrive with only one way ticket and the returning ticket is not necessary.

That might be mentioned in your contract with the school. If not, it's probably up to you.
