Changing Multiple Entry Visa to Z type

I plan on visiting China from the first week of september and re-entering in the beginning of October. I was wondering if it's possible to change the L type to a Z one once in China. I'm hoping to have a job/contract/Z type underway by the time October rolls around but was wondering if this process works out.

In short, getting a multiple entry type. Entering beginning of September, re-entering in the beginning of October and changing L type to Z type.

Thanks!

You cannot change your L to Z in China, according to the rule.
You can try to find a job in China during your second visit to China. After you get a work permit the Chinese company provides, you still need to exit China and apply for a Z type in a foreign country.

If you really want to change, you can try to find some agency for help. I heard they can change your L to Z, but the expenses will be high.

I think a multiple entry Visa is a good idea. If you're willing to pay more and depending on which province you're located in, they may let you get the Z Work Visa in their province. You could point out that it's just as expensive to fly back home as it is to leave Mainland borders to get a Z Visa in another country, like Thailand or Hong Kong.
