Is there a train from Beijing to Xiamen? Or what would be the cheapest route to get to Xiamen?

the cheapest route is travel by rail on an overnight hard sleeper, which only costs CNY 440, but it takes over 30 hours.
there is also a daytime high-speed rail service from Beijing to Xiamen, taking 12 hours, but costs CNY829.5 for second class seat.1
