About:China Visa Application Requirements

Applying for visa for child going on school trip to China

Child is going to China for a school trip & we have just applied for a visa. We were required to list family members on the application form, one of the family members has a 30 year old conviction - does this make any difference to the application? We weren't required to declare it or list D.O.B's so not sure how they could check. Could they be declined for this when the person concerned is not travelling with them?

It is not assured about that.
Personally speaking, if they do not require all your family members' names, you can avoid list this one on the application form. You can only list your major family members.

We have listed him as we had to (father) the conviction is 30 years old from when he was a teenager. Just had no idea if they background check the family or if they in fact could without requesting DOB's or having the consent of that person to do so (that wasn't requested just names, relationship, nationality & occupation).
