i am uk citizengoing to hong kong via hangzhouthen back to the uk from hk.

If I am entitled for free transit, I would like to stay in Hangzhou for a day or two. will you advise?

If you can fly UK- Hangzhou - HK, you are only qualified for the 24-hour free transit policy if you stay in Hangzhou for less than 24 hours. So you may stay in Hangzhou for around one day and a half in Hangzhou.
