I need return train from HK to Bejing on Sept 31 and return to HK from Beijing on Oct 9th.

Yes, there are direct trains running between HK and Beijing. You said you will take the trains respectively on Sep. 31 and Oct. 9, I’m afraid you cannot make it. Firstly, the date Sep. 31 dosen't exit and  the trains in Sep. and Oct. only operate in the even dates, there is no train in the odd dates. If you cannot make it, u may consider taking a direct plane to travel instead.
