male dog and female rooster compatable marriage?

I am a female rooster datingg a male dog. Things go good half of the time. Then the other half feels like why am i in this.We love each other very much. I usually am outgoing and happy and playful, but sometimes his seriousness brings me down. Will it always be like this or will we find a balance between us.
