irish person going to be an au pair

I have been accepted to a family in Qingdao to teach english to their son. I was wondering how long does the visa take to be issued once successful and do I have to travel up to hand it in and travel back to the chinese embassy to recieve it or could they mail them? Also where would I find help in filling it out.

Hi, may I know how long will you stay in China? for this purpose, you may only able to apply for a short stay tourist L type with single entry. The embassy does not provide mail back service, but you can entrust someone else or an agency to handle your application if you do not have time to do it in person. The application form can be downloaded from the website of Chinese embassy.

Sorry, you can't get it on the same day you submit your application. The fastest service is to submit your application today and get your visa on the second day.
