About:China Visa Application Requirements

Do the JW202 and X1 need ticket reservation?

I intend to move to china a month before school starts so that i get used to the environment but my question is; do i need to reserve an air ticket before applying for visa JW202 or X1

Hi, you can not enter China too early because X1 is only good for a stay of 30 days, which means you have to apply for residence permit within 30 days after entry. I don't think you need air ticket in advance if you apply for X1 type.
