About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

Can a US citizen apply a China visa in Malasia?

I am a US citizen and am in Malaysia in a business trip. My mom is in China and is in critical condition. I need to go China to visit her immediately.

Katy, I think you can apply considering of your emergency. However, you may contact the CVASC branch in Kuala Lumpur.

If they tell you "No", you may fly to HK and apply one. Most people have applied successfully in HK though the regulation says it can't be done there.
