About:China Student Visa

Moving from a Z to X-visa

Hi, currently teaching for a university in China on a Z (with full residence permit).

Want to go and do a semester of 'real' study at a university here. And I don't know whether it is easier to just get a new student X (especially in my second passport) while I'm on holiday in my home country (UK), or can I transfer my residence permit to X?

Hi, you can try to do this without leaving at the local exit-entry Administration of PSB. As I know, it is possible if you have admission letter from the university and JW201/202 form for study.
