Buses 877 and 919 to Badaling GW and Bus 879 to Sacred Way (Ming Tombs)

I want to take either the 877 bus or the 919 bus to Badaling then take the 879 to Sacred Way and Changling Tomb. According to google map the 877 would take me 6 hrs and 48 minutes with 2 stops. The 919 would take me 2 hrs and 48 minutes with 2 stops, then I would need to take the 919 in the opposite direction for another 56 min with 5 stops.

To take the 879 to Changling Tomb, the bus ride would be for be 3 hrs and 28 minutes with 12 stops.

According to travelchinaguide information above, the bus ride to Badaling GW should take me 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. So this leaves me perplexed as I don't know how to plan for the day. How long would it actually take me to get to Changling Tomb by bus?

Based on TCG info, here is special tourist bus 872 (formerly 925) runs directly from Desheng Gate (is this a subway station, and if so, what line?) to Dingling and Changling.. There is also a Changping 22 bus from Tiantongyuan Bei Station that would go there. So to go back to Beijing, I should be able to take the same buses going in the opposite. Does anyone know where I can catch them?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If I were you, I would visit Dingling and Changling first. You know, there are too many visitors who queue up for No.877 bus in the morning. The earliest No.872 departs from Deshengmeng at 07:00. It takes around 2 hour and 10 minutes to reach Dingling. Then you spend 2.5 to 3 hours visiting Dingling, Changling and Sacred Way.

You can finish your visit before 13:00. Then you can take No. 879 bus to Badaling. It takes around 2.5 hours. It should be 15:00 when you arrive at Badaling section. Then you have 3 hours to visit the wall. It’s enough. When you get down the wall, you will meet many tourists who queue for taking No.877 bus back to downtown area of Beijing. You needn’t queue up for the bus. Instead, you can take S2 train back to Beijing North Railway Station. It passes by Badaling at 17:30, 19:31, 19:55, 20:53 and 21:31. If you finish your visit a bit early, you may take the train that departs at 17:30 back to Beijing North. The railway station is very close to Xizhimen subway station. There you may take line 2 or 13 to the place where you stay at.
