Zhenjiang to Xian by train

I have been checking timetables for the above train. I cannot travel until the afternoon about 4 pm but there does not seem to be one until nearly midnight or 2 in the morning. As I have to travel from Yangzhou to Zhenjiang to catch this one, I would have to be getting to the station in the night time. Can you see another one going from Zhenjiang to Xian in the late afternoon please?

David, thank you - another question please
David, Why were these trains not listed when I printed out a timetable. Is it because they are slow trains? Would they have soft sleepers? How long would the trip take in these trains please because they are slower?

Don't worry Vikki,
The tickets for July 26 will be put on sale on July 7, so you still have time to confirm the schedule. would you mind tell you where did you get the timetable and what are the train numbers?

David, I cannot remember which website now. I have tried to find it again and cannot. That is half my problem as I seem to get different advice on different websites.
I will take your advice and when I get to China I will book my ticket for 26th July to Xian, and also my return to Pudong. BTW which is the closest train station to Pudong? Is it just Shanghai or Shanghai South please?

Hi Vikki,
I'm sure the train numbers i give you are correct if you are searching for trans from Zhenjiang to Xian.
Tickets are in large demand in summer holiday (July and August), so remember to book the ticket 20 days in advance, say on July 7th.
If you booking with online agent, you'd better submit your order more than 20 days in advance. if you decide to purchase the ticket by yourself at the railway station, you should go to the station 18 days in advance, on July 9th.
All trains from Xian to Shanghai stops at Shanghai Railway Station, from the station you can take airport shuttle bus or subway lines to pudong airport.
