can i take 24 500gram pots of Manuka honey into China?

My wife XiaoJun LI is returning to China in September to visit and would like to take honey with her. Is that possible and how much duty would she have to pay?

Yes, she can bring honey into China. If total value of her items doesn't exceed 5000 RMB, I think she won't be required to pay tax for her honey. May I know how many bottles will she take with her? If it meets the requirement "reasonable quantities for personal use", she won't have a trouble. However, she should put all honey bottles in her checked luggage. It's forbidden to bring honey and other liquid products on board.

PS: the tax rate for honey is 15 percent.
